舍南舍北皆春水
但見群鷗日日來
花徑不曾緣客掃
蓬門今始為君開
盤飧市遠無兼味
樽酒家貧只舊醅
肯與鄰翁相對飲
隔籬呼取盡餘杯
North of me, south of me, spring is in flood,
Day after day I have seen only gulls....
My path is full of petals -- I have swept it for no others.
My thatch gate has been closed -- but opens now for you.
It's a long way to the market, I can offer you little --
Yet here in my cottage there is old wine for our cups.
Shall we summon my elderly neighbour to join us,
Call him through the fence, and pour the jar dry?

屋舍南面北面都瀰漫著春水，只見到一群群鷗鳥天天飛來。
沒有客人來，花間小徑也不曾打掃，柴門今天才為您而打開。
遠離市街，買不到多樣菜肴；家裡貧窮，也只有隔年陳酒招待。
您願不願意同鄰居老翁對飲？隔著籬笆，呼喚來相互乾幾杯。
賞析
這是一首工整而流暢的七律。前兩聯寫客至，有空谷足音之喜，後兩聯寫待客，見村家真率之情。篇首以“群鷗”引興，篇尾以“鄰翁”陪結。在結構上，作者兼顧空間順序和時間順序。從空間上看，從外到內，由大到小；從時間上看，則寫了迎客、待客的全過程。銜接自然，渾然一體。但前兩句先寫日常生活的孤獨，從而與接待客人的歡樂情景形成對比。這兩句又有“興”的意味：用“春水”、“群鷗”意象，渲染出一種充滿情趣的生活氛圍，流露出主人公因客至而歡欣的心情。
