世人都曉神仙好,
惟有功名忘不了。
古今將相在何方,
荒冢一堆草沒了。

曹雪芹在 《 紅樓夢 》 第一回中裡寫出 《 好了歌 》 思想。 甄士隱家業破敗後,夫妻倆到鄉下田莊里生活。又趕上“水旱不收,鼠盜蜂起”,不得安身,只好變賣了田產,投奔到岳父家。其岳父又是個卑鄙貪財的人,把他僅剩的一點銀子也半哄半賺地弄到自己手裡。甄士隱“急忿怨痛”、“貧病交攻”,直正走投無路了。一天,他拄著拐杖走到街上,突然見一個“瘋癲落脫、麻履鶉衣”的跛足道人走過來,叨唸出這首歌。
這首《好了歌》宣揚了一種逃避現實的虛無主義思想。從宗教的觀點看,人們活在世上,建功立業,發財致富,貪戀妻妾,顧念兒孫,全都是被情慾蒙蔽尚不“覺悟”的緣故。這首歌就是用通俗淺近的語言來說明這一切都是靠不住的。跛足道人說:“好便是了,了便是好”,又把“好”和“了”的涵義引申一層,說只有和這個世界斬斷一切聯繫,也就是說只有徹底的“了”,才是徹底的“好”。 所以他這首歌就叫《好了歌》。
好了歌注 陋室空堂,當年笏滿床;衰草枯楊,曾為歌舞場。 蛛絲兒結滿雕樑,綠紗今又糊在蓬窗上。 說什麼脂正濃,粉正香,如何兩鬢又成霜? 昨日黃土隴頭送白骨,今宵紅燈帳底臥鴛鴦。 金滿箱,銀滿箱, 展眼乞丐人皆謗。 正嘆他人命不長,那知自己歸來喪! 訓有方,保不定日後作強梁;擇膏梁,誰承望流落在煙花巷 ! 因嫌紗帽小,致使鎖枷扛 ;昨憐破襖寒,今嫌紫蟒長。 亂哄哄,你方唱罷我登場,反認他鄉是故鄉;甚荒唐,到頭來都是為他人作嫁衣裳!
